And according to the Sun, United are making him a top priority target, with the Belgium international a clear upgrade on flops like Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.
If United rake in £150m from the sale of Pogba then going after an even more expensive centre-back might be tempting, but £25m on Alderweireld and money left over for other areas of the squad seems like an ideal way to reinvest that cash.

Finally, for just another £25m, Man Utd could also sign Ajax attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech after his sensational form this season.
