‘Outclassed’ – Pundit lambasts ‘backwards’ Arsenal performance against Man City

TalkSport pundit Jamie O’Hara has ripped into Arsenal following their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City last night, claiming they were ‘outclassed’.

The loss to City leaves Mikel Arteta’s side only two points ahead of second place, Pep Guardiola and his team also have two games in hand on the Gunners.

Man City were already 2-0 up by half-time, less than ten minutes into the second half they led by three. Rob Holding was able to pull a goal back for Arsenal, but Erling Haaland put the final nail in the coffin by adding a fourth.

Speaking on TalkSport, O’Hara held no punches when it came to his assessment of the clash between first and second.

He stated, “Up until tonight’s game, arguably the best team in the league. They’ve thrown it away against Liverpool, West Ham, Southampton and tonight they got absolutely schooled, outclassed, no faith in their own ability. No drive to go and win the game, they didn’t take any risks. It was all sideways and backwards, there was no belief.”

With two games in hand and three points being enough to overtake them, the title race is now in the hands of City and it’s theirs to lose.

Arsenal deserves immense credit for the number of stunning performances this season, we would be surprised if anyone predicted Arteta’s side to be title contenders this season.

Perhaps the youth and inexperience with that kind of pressure are why the Gunners could come up short, but from a long-term future perspective, it gives them experience for future title races which they’ll hope to be contending for on a consistent basis.
