Pundit claims Klopp could struggle to drop 22 y/o ace after recent performances

Pundit Alan Shearer has said that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could struggle to drop Curtis Jones after his impressive performances in previous weeks.

Jones bagged a brace in their 3-0 win away at Leicester City, the victory puts them a point behind both Manchester United and Newcastle United but they have a game in hand on the Reds.

Shearer selected the 22-year-old in his most recent Team of the Week, alongside fellow teammates Mohammed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

He wrote, “Two goals in three minutes! The youngster has always looked neat and tidy. If he keeps performing like this, he will be hard to leave out.”

The English midfielder now has three goals and an assist to his name in the Premier League from 16 appearances.

His recent showings may have proved to Klopp that he’s in contention to be a mainstay in the Reds’ midfield for the 2022/23 campaign.

Liverpool’s results in recent times have certainly helped them push further up the table and are in with a real shout of getting top four.

Should Man United or Newcastle stumble in their remaining fixtures, Klopp’s side will certainly be ready to pounce on the opportunity.
