Opinion: Arsenal & Chelsea need to pounce for Europe’s most lethal finisher who’s available for just €17.5m

Arsenal and Chelsea surely have to take notice of the fact that Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy is available for a ridiculously cheap fee ahead of the January transfer window.

Both the Gunners and the Blues are a little light up front at the moment, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah not looking anywhere near prolific enough, despite their qualities, while Senegalese youngster Nicolas Jackson may have plenty of potential but is probably not quite at the right level just yet, while Armando Broja has only recently returned from a lengthy injury lay-off.

Guirassy would surely turn Arsenal into more serious title challengers, or give Chelsea a significant boost to their hopes of getting back into the Champions League, after scoring a remarkable 14 goals in eight Bundesliga games so far this season – more than any other player in Europe’s big five leagues so far this term.

Ridiculously enough, a player of this calibre has a release clause of just €17.5million, according to Fabrizio Romano in his post on X today…

This kind of money is almost unheard of for players like this in today’s market, so it’s surely a no-brainer for the London giants to trigger this clause and get a deal done this January.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also in for Brentford’s Ivan Toney, as per Romano’s exclusive Daily Briefing column here, but, as he notes, the England international would cost more like £65m.

Toney may be more proven at Premier League level, but these crazy numbers from Guirassy are impossible to ignore, with the Guinea international surely now ready to test himself at a bigger club.

Considering what’s at stake for both Arsenal and Chelsea this season, this is an opportunity neither club can afford to miss out on, so let’s see if they move, and who can move into pole position for this bargain deal.
