Manchester United have reportedly turned their attention to the Italian market.
Set to be out of contract in Turin in just 18 months, Federico Chiesa, 26, is quickly becoming an attainable target, and with Juventus needing to avoid losing their most valuable players for free, a deal could be reached once the summer transfer window opens.
And United, according to Fichajes, have not only identified the 26-year-old as a player capable of driving a push for silverware, but they’re also prepared to match the Old Lady’s £43 million (€50 million) asking price.
Interest in the former Fiorentina starlet is not exclusive to Old Trafford though; Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have also been linked with a summer approach in recent times.
The Magpies, like United, are looking to bolster their squad ahead of next season and could be looking to upgrade their right-wing options with Miguel Almiron not quite the calibre of player needed to guide the fallen giants to the top.
Either way, with Chiesa’s contract approaching its final year, Juventus will know unless they reach an extension agreement, they will be forced to cash in on their 2021 Italian European Championship winner.
