Although he won’t officially start in his new role until July 1, Julen Lopetegui has been confirmed as the new Head Coach of West Ham United.
The Spaniard joins after David Moyes made way at the end of last season, and he immediately set out his ideas and ambitions for his squad during his first interview with club media.
Known for an exciting, attacking style, Lopetegui should find that the West Ham faithful will be immediately on side, as long as the club are winning games.
It seems that Moyes’ ‘safety first’ way of playing football hasn’t curried favour in the East End of London, so the former Porto, Real Madrid, Spain, Sevilla and Wolves coach has a blank canvas on which to paint his beautiful game.
