Liverpool have been the busiest Premier League team this summer.

Even after winning the Premier League title, they have wasted no time in adding more strength and depth to their squad.

Arne Slot has made two statement signings so far: Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, both arriving at Anfield from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

The next player to most likely arrive at Anfield will be Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.

With the right-back, attacking midfield and left-back positions sorted, the Reds are now focusing on adding another attacker to their squad.

Liverpool are looking for a new striker

After the poor performances of Darwin Nunez last season, a new number nine is needed at the club and the Merseyside club is working behind the scenes to address that issue.

While there have been noises of Liverpool making a move for Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that it is highly unlikely at this point.

Instead, the Reds are more likely to sign Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Hugo Ekitike this summer.

Romano told GiveMeSport:

“Liverpool would try to go for Isak [if he became available] but at the moment I don’t have this feeling. The club too, from what I’m hearing, see it as a very, very difficult deal.

“A name I can mention for Liverpool is still Hugo Ekitike at Eintracht Frankurt. Because if Darwin Nunez leaves, let’s see what happens with Luis Diaz, but especially Darwin, and I see Darwin leaving this summer.

“Well, I think for Ekitike this could be a possibility to go to Liverpool, because there were calls from Chelsea two weeks ago. Man United, in recent days, also made contact with the agents to understand the situation. But for Liverpool, this is also a possibility.”

What could Ekitike offer to Liverpool?

Ekitike can play as a central striker or drift into wide forward roles which would be ideal for Slot’s playing style.

While he is most comfortable as a No. 9, his ability to drop deep or attack from the flanks would complement Liverpool’s attacking players.

He often draws defenders out of position, creating space for others, something that players like Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and others would love.

  1. Ekitike will bring nothing to Liverpool, cz he don’t hve the level to play for Liverpool

  2. Would go for Osimhen. His much better and proven pedigree at the top level for a while now whereas Ekitike, this is just one season at the top level and he hasn’t done well at PSG. Osimhen is the cheaper option, we could give them Nunez plus a bit more cash on top and we’ll be a lethal force next season. Around the world, all eyes will be on us especially with a full world class team, each player in every position will be a world class player. This is the first time we’ll have a full world class team, everyone will be fearing to play against us. We’ll be favourites in every competition, just Osimhen needed and we’ll be ready to kick off against the world, can’t wait for the season to kick off.

  3. I’m supporter Liverpool in Africa, Liberia I being supporter of Liverpool doing the day of macheal Owen.
