Liverpool are keen on signing the Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak during the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Alexander Isak has already secured an agreement with Liverpool over personal terms. There is a verbal agreement in place with the player, and Liverpool are now in contact with Newcastle to get the deal done.
It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on a fee.
Can Liverpool sign Alexander Isak?
Liverpool are keen on the Swedish International, and he could prove to be an exceptional acquisition. They need a quality striker who can find the back of the net regularly. Darwin Nunez managed to score just seven goals last season. They need an upgrade on the South American if they want to win the UEFA Champions League and fight for the title regularly.
Clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal have improved their squad immensely, and Liverpool need to improve as well. Isak was the best striker in the Premier League last season, and he could prove to be an excellent addition.
The striker is likely to earn similar wages to that of Hugo Ekitike. The French international joined Liverpool earlier this summer. Isak is likely to partner with Ekitike in the attack if the move goes through.
Isak would improve Liverpool
The Swedish International helped Newcastle win the English League Cup last season, and he helped them secure UEFA Champions League qualification. However, this is the right time for him to take the next step and join a club where he will win major trophies. Joining the Premier League champions would be ideal for him.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will have to pay a British transfer fee to get the deal done, and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds. Newcastle will be thoroughly disappointed to lose a player of his calibre.

If an under contract for 3 more years Isak has agreed a deal with a club that hasn’t even officially bid for him yet, then that is tapping up of the highest order, or are your journos too thick to see that 🤣
ISAK wants LFC, they want him Newcastle should make the deal and use the transfer fee to buy 2 or 3 good players to strengthen the team that’s got to better than having an unhappy player
There’s 3 yrs left to run on his contract, I’d do the same as Liverpool did with Trent and let his contract run out, sorry to the scousers out there but Newcastle has all the cards they don’t need the money and need the player more.
You’re assuming a few things.
1) He won’t tank this last year.
2) This won’t affect future signings when they look at how they’re not letting him leave after contract talks failed.
Lots of scousers were sour about TAA leaving, but in the end (with a lot of influence from Jurgen Klopp), they praised him at the end and wished him well. And we got 10M for him to go to the CWC and tank.
liverpool should do all that is within their reach to secure Isak because this would mean much to us.
