Arsenal and Liverpool supporters: Who has the tougher Champions League draw?
by offsidetrap on August 29th, 2008If yesterday’s Champions League draw taught us anything, it’s that Chelsea and Manchester United surely have a guardian angel (or a man named Platini) looking over them. With the exception of Villarreal and AS Roma, both should surely waltz into the knockout stage of the tournament.
For Arsenal and Liverpool, the road doesn’t seem to be paved with gold. Liverpool have the unenviable task of facing Torres’ former club, Atletico de Madrid, as well former group mates, PSV and Marseille, for the right to enter the next round. For Arsenal, the road is just as tough, as the club must prepare to battle FC Porto, Fenerbache, and Dynamo Kyiv for a spot in the knockout round.
While both clubs have a rough road ahead, we want to know which one you believe has the most difficult test. Is it Liverpool or Arsenal? Let us know!

Arsenal have the tougher group, albeit slightly due to the anticipated long haul trips
ASIM - August 29th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Arsenal because we have got the champions of Portugal champions of turkey and the champions of Ukraine

I am a Liverpool fan but believe that the Arse have a tougher draw.

I’m a Liverpool supporter… both groups are difficult in terms of teams, but arse have the worse draw because of the travel; we have fantastic aways. Kiev in November? No thanks.

If Alonso does go to Newcastle (in some bizarre swap deal involving N’Zogbia and Smith) then I think Liverpool will struggle.

Liverpool have much more talented teams in there group, but all of them play on good surfaces, and play technically good football. Arsenal have a potentially tougher group because of the harsch conditions away from home.
Liverpool have a group where it will be close at home and away, and Arsenal have a group where it will be easy and home and hard away. (arsenal 4-0 dynamo kiev), (dynamo kiev 1-0 arsenal)-ex.

Liverpool have tougher teams in their group, but will be happy that they don’t have to make the tough trips to Ukraine and Turkey that Arsenal have to … those hard trips could lose them points in the Prem.

liverpool doent have to complain life can never be cheaper than that bit if Arsenal can get one more holding midfielder then the gunners can never loose against any of those team though it is tricky. thats why i call them “THE GOOD GUNNERS OF LONDON” as long as CEcs is ok then we can even cherish having Barcelona & AC millan in the group stage we dont mind

A true champion overcomes ALL odds! Arsenal will have to learn more about that these days. They are like sissies and need toughening up!
Arsene doesn’t know how to do that. GET TEN CATE AS ASSISTANT!!!

We (Liverpool) surely have the toughest of groups. We have Atletico Madrid waiting for us. Torres’ old club. It would be very tough for him to do anything against Atletico as it is his boy-hood club.
Currently, we aren’t playing good either. PSV and Marseille either could overcome us the way we are playing. We need to tighten up.
Being optimistic, I see we and Atletico going through with Marseille and PSV fighting amongst themselves for 3rd and 4th.

liverpool have definately got the harder group there is no argument about that but they will go through and beat real madrid in the final to win it and man u will get knocked out in last 16 hahahahaha

to ASIM .. you do not have the champions of ukraine. shakhtar donetsk are champions of ukraine. and porto are only champions of portugal because of match fixing. and fenerbache aren’t champions of turkey. galatasaray are. stupid arsenal retard. just like arsene wenger. complaining about everything making it sound harder than what it is so that when you fail you have an excuse.
liverpool have a tough group especially with atletico de madrid. lord knows how they were 4th seeds in the draw. stupid uefa, f****ing platini. i can’t stand him. he was a great player. but he’s an arrogant frenchman.
as for who has the tougher group. i think in terms of quality oppsosition liverpool have it tougher. but arsenal have very tough away matches. so i think both groups are as hard as one another.

liverpool will win group no doubt, along with althletico, psv are a joke, and marseiile not fantastic either. cant wait until man utd are humiliated again by the likes of zenit st petersburg in the last 16 lmfao
I think arsenal had a more tougher group than liverpool cos with d absent of flamini and gilberto and the fucking coach not willing to get standing 4, surely hav a long way to go b4 they can win any trophy. - August 31st, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Arsenal had a tougher group because they dont hav experience players to compete 4 any trophy
D Gunners! though with a young team, they're surely gonna make it through. Watch d 'GUNNERS' - September 6th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
With d kind of teams involved in d group, Arsenal are seen to be in d toughest group than Liver Pool, but d Gunners are surely going to make it with d likes of Nasri, Adeabayoh, Clichy, David Villa and d rest
