Liverpool are tracking the progress of highly-rated Legia Warsaw attacker Jakub Kosecki, according to Punto Pelota.

The young pole has attracted the interest of some of Europe’s top names, including the Reds, as well as Spanish sides Valencia and Atletico Madrid. Regarded as one of the brightest young stars coming out of Poland’s youth ranks, it’s understood that the player would rather a move to Spain at this stage of his career.

The 22-year old forward, who can also operate on the left-hand side of play, is also reportedly being tracked by Osasuna, as he pushes towards a summer transfer. His dazzling performances, speed and trickery have not only lit up the Polish league, but have attracted the attention of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who is looking to strengthen his side ahead of a Champions League push.

Having failed in a bid to sign Roberto Soldado from Valencia this summer, as the Spaniard looks set to join league rivals Tottenham, Rodgers is looking to sign Kosecki as he looks to add more goals into his team. With the likes of Phillipe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge looking to have breakout seasons, Kosecki would be competing with the likes of Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto for game time at Anfield.

To make way for his arrival, Rodgers looks set to let go of some squad players who will not contribute this season. Flop winger Oussama Assaidi looks set to leave the club their summer, as PSV, Feyenoord and FC Twente all eye a move for the Moroccan.
