Liverpool’s talismanic midfielder Steven Gerrard has just retired from international football with immediate effect, but a little known Vietnamese paper got pretty confused as to what sport he wouldn’t be playing anymore!
‘Viet Nam’ claimed that the 34-year-old that ‘Fans gave retiring Gerrard a fond farewell from cricket’, which is wrong for two reasons…
Firstly, Gerrard retired as England’s football captain, and secondly – supporters weren’t especially nice to him about it either!
