Here’s how the Spurs players rated:
Hugo Lloris – 6
The French international will have been disappointed to concede the goals he did and should probably have got to Carrick’s goal. Could have done little about Fellaini or Rooney’s though.
Kyle Walker – 4
A torrid day for Walker who was punished time after time down his flank as he got forward and failed to get back. Added to which, he had virtually no impact in the opposing third. His disconnect with Dier was clear for all to see.
Eric Dier – 5
A tough day for the centre-half who wasn’t helped by his partner. At 21 years old he struggled to deal with the pressure of the performance once his side conceded in the first half. Should have worked much better with his full-back, Walker.
Jan Vertonghen – 5
The Belgian will be disappointed not to have done better with the goals conceded, especially Carrick’s header. A poor day all-round.
Danny Rose – 5
Not a good day for the full-back who got forward, but made very little impression when he did and was a bit of a passenger.
