Spurs to bid for exciting young forward.

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make a £15m bid to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The north London outfit are also reported by the Mirror to be in talks over a deal to sell unwanted front-man Emmanuel Adebayor to Aston Villa, which would free up space to bring in Berahino up front.

The 21-year-old impressed in the Premier League last season, scoring 14 goals in the top flight and a total of 20 in all competitions to establish himself as one of the most promising young talents in English football.

Tottenham could now seek to partner the youngster with their own top English talent, with the club in need of a partner for last season’s star Harry Kane.

The Mirror claims that £15m is unlikely to be enough to bring Berahino to Tottenham, but it seems Spurs could still be interested in doing what they can to bring him to north London, having monitored his performances for much of last season.

Reports elsewhere suggest West Brom could be interested in signing out-of-favour Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert (via the Birmingham Mail), which could become a more pressing priority for the Baggies if they do end up losing Berahino to Tottenham.
