Ex-Liverpool midfielder tipped for England call-up

Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has been tipped to be included in Roy Hodgson’s next England squad.

The Three Lions are set to face San Marino and Switzerland in Euro 2016 qualifiers next month, and Hodgson is due to name his squad on Sunday.

The Welsh media are backing Shelvey to make the selection, with Wales Online suggesting that the attacking midfielder will be given the chance to add to his one cap to date.

The 23-year-old has been one of the stars of the Premier League season so far, and has demonstrated his full creative arsenal in a series of encouraging performances by the Swans.

Ahead of this weekend’s matches, he had laid on 13 opportunities for his teammates—more than any other player in the top flight.
