Tottenham target will push for January move to White Hart Lane

Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama will push for a January move to Tottenham according to the Daily Express.

The 24-year-old Kenyan international was strongly linked with a summer move to White Hart Lane but the Saints stood firm on their stance on the midfield battler, refusing to sell the former Celtic man as Ronald Koeman had already seen Nathaniel Clyne and Morgan Schneiderlin move to Liverpool and Man United respectively.

Wanyama will turn down advances of a fresh contract extension with his south-coast side and will look to force a move to join former Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs.

Pochettino offloaded a number of midfielders over the summer with the likes of Paulinho, Etienne Capoue, Lewis Holtby and Benjamin Stambouli all sold and this has certainly left room for additional options in the centre of the park.
