Chelsea line up £20m offer for West Brom striker Saido Berahino

Chelsea are said to be weighing up an offer of around £20million to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, according to the Metro.

The Blues are already looking ahead to the January transfer window to identify possible signings that could help turn around their faltering season (via Metro).

The Metro claim that Chelsea are looking at a new striker, as they will likely allow Radamel Falcao to cut his loan spell short and return to Monaco, and the Daily Telegraph believe that the defending Premier League champions are running the rule over Berahino to take his place.

Chelsea are reportedly willing to stump up £20million to land the England under21 international, who will have just 18 months left to run on his current deal with West Brom when the transfer window reopens (via Telegraph).

The Metro also highlights that the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Edinson Cavani and Alexandre Lacazette have all been looked at, but Berahino would prove to be an easier option as he would count as a homegrown player.
