Toure had been frozen out of the side since the arrival of Pep Guardiola. His agent has had several public disputes with the Spaniard and it has put a strain on the pair’s relationship.
The Ivorian is back doing what he does best today, though, and was handed his first start of the Premier League season. He has made the most of his opportunity too, playing a quick one-two with Nolito before firing into the back of the net.
It leaves Guardiola with egg on his face, as the City faithful have a right to wonder why Toure hasn’t been playing.
