It appears that retro is back in fashion on the red half of Merseyside, as Liverpool have released their away kit for the 2023/24 campaign and it definitely harks back to a mid-90s vibe.
The shirt has light green and white quarters with subtle geometric elements to the green part.
Where once the likes of Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler would strut their stuff in a similar garment at away grounds, now Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah and Jordan Henderson et al will do so.
It’s old school but with a new feel.
