Tottenham Close In On £58m Trio As Mauricio Pochettino Makes Late Summer Spending Spree

1) Wilfried Bony (Swansea City)

Replacing Soldado upfront will be Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony, with Tottenham said to have met the Ivory Coast international’s £19m release clause to begin personal negotiations with the player and his representatives. The 25-year-old was in superb form for the Swans last season in his first year in the Premier League, and his prolific touch in front of goal has also seen him linked strongly with Liverpool for much of this summer. Still, Spurs are in the driving seat now and Bony could provide the team with far more of a threat upfront after the likes of Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor’s inconsistent form last term.
