Arsene Wenger wants to bring former enforcer back to Arsenal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to be giving “serious consideration” to bringing midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup back to the club from Besiktas, according to the Daily Star.

The Star claims that the Gunners have been keeping a close watch on their former youth team product, and are now ready to set the wheels in motion on a deal to bring him back.

Ozyakup left Arsenal for Besiktas in 2012 for a minor fee of £350,000, and has since developed into a top class performer, and has even established himself firmly in the Turkish national side, where he played his part in helping the country qualify for Euro 2016.

However, he is now priced over 25-times what he left for, with The Star reporting that he will be available for around £9million, but with injuries to Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin keeping them out of the side, Wenger may be prepared to cough up in order to keep his title challenge on track.
