Twitter: Manchester United international takes to social media to send injury update

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has taken to social media to confirm to fans that he is ‘fine’ after being replaced with injury against Southampton at the weekend.

Writing on his @DarmianOfficial Twitter account, the full-back shared a photo of himself giving the thumbs up, while thanking the fans for their support.

He also confirmed that he was ‘fine’, and potentially issued a promising update on his current injury situation.

Italy international Darmian moved to Old Trafford during the summer, signing on a four-year deal from Torino [as per the club’s official website].

While some of United’s summer signings—notable forward Memphis Depay—have failed to truly impress since joining in the summer, Darmian has proved to be a valuable asset for the Old Trafford heavyweights.

United currently risk being short in defence with the likes of Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo all absent [as per the Mirror], and as such, it prompted much concern when Darmian was replaced with a head injury against Southampton.
