Tottenham Hotspur summer spending to rise towards £39m as swap deal is agreed

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a move to sign France U21 winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou from Marseille.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs will pay the Ligue 1 side around £11m, as well as sending them Clinton N’Jie, 23, on a season-long loan in a swap deal of sorts.

N’Koudou, 21, looks set to become Tottenham’s third signing of the summer, joining Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen on the list of Mauricio Pochettino’s preseason recruits.

Former Southampton midfielder Wanyama and Dutch striker Janssen cost Spurs £11m and £17m respectively, per BBC Sport, meaning this deal to sign N’Koudou would take Tottenham’s summer spending to somewhere in the region of £39m.

N’Koudou scored five goals and provided three assists in 2,076 Ligue 1 minutes for Marseille last season.

Meanwhile, N’Jie only got 185 minutes of Premier League game time during his debut campaign with Spurs. N’Jie failed to score, but he did provide one assist.

N’Jie signed a five-year contract with Spurs when he arrived from Lyon last summer.
