Antoine Griezmann could be on his way to Old Trafford in January with Man United now favourites to sign the French attacker.
The Mirror have reported that United lead the way to sign the French attacker with a January move looking increasingly likely.
A separate report from the Mirror this summer had linked the Red Devils with the Atletico star after Barcelona failed with a £124m bid, stating that United would be the destination for the Frenchman instead of Barca. But, with attacking options limited it was always unlikely that Diego Simeone would allow Griezmann to leave the club.
However, with Diego Costa returning to his beloved Atletico Madrid this could now give United the green light to press ahead with a move for Griezmann.
The 26-year-old scored 16 goals for Atletico in the league last year and is admired by many as one of the most talented attackers in word football. Griezmann also picked up the golden boot during the Euros in 2016 and would likely bolster United’s attack to one of the strongest in Europe.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic still to return from injury it could cause a serious headache for Jose Mourinho if he was to bring Griezmann to Old Trafford in January, but it would be sure to be a problem that every manager in world football would envy.
