“MOTM for me” – these Liverpool fans thrilled with Reds star who shone in new role vs Brighton

Liverpool fans seem pretty happy with how Fabinho got on as a makeshift centre-back in the 1-0 win over Brighton today.

The Reds had to work hard for another three points, with this Mohamed Salah goal from the penalty spot enough to help Jurgen Klopp’s side back to winning ways.

The Egypt international may have stepped up at the vital moment, but it seems it is Fabinho’s performance that has particularly encouraged a lot of Liverpool fans on Twitter.

The Brazilian, normally a midfielder, dropped back alongside Virgil van Dijk in defence this afternoon due to the Merseysiders’ injury problems in that area.

Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez are both out, but Fabinho put in an assured display to show that LFC have the depth to cope with these absences this season.

Klopp must be thrilled to have so many options, though in fairness he would probably just rather have Gomez back as soon as possible.

For now, however, Fabinho is getting the plaudits…
