Talks progressing: Manchester United ‘edging closer to signing £265million quartet’ to give Solskjaer title-winning XI

Tanguy Ndombele

Set to cost around £80m, Man Utd have at least agreed personal terms with Tanguy Ndombele even if they’re yet to meet Lyon’s asking price for the France international.

The 22-year-old had an immense 2018/19, becoming one of the finest all-round midfield players in Europe with his stunning performances in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

Ndombele would be an ideal upgrade on Nemanja Matic and Fred, and sources in France suggest things are moving along well as the player has agreed personal terms with United.

Ruben Dias

Finally, United could solve their defensive crisis with the £60m signing of Benfica centre-back Ruben Dias, according to latest reports.

The Portugal international is a cheap alternative to some of the other big names linked with MUFC this summer, like Kalidou Koulibaly, Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt.

It seems United are prepared to meet Dias’ release clause and complete possibly one of the bargains of the summer in the process.

Here’s a look at how Solskjaer’s first XI could look like next season once he gets all these signings done…
