Garth Crooks has singled out Chelsea attacking midfielder Christian Pulisic for praise after his dazzling performance against Liverpool last night.

It was undoubtedly a big night for Liverpool as they ended their 30-year wait to lift the Premier League title, but it was also a thrilling encounter on the pitch as they beat Chelsea 5-3 at Anfield.

And while it was ultimately the Reds who came away with the three points, Pulisic put in a memorable display after coming off the bench for Frank Lampard’s side.

The exciting young USA international set up a goal for Tammy Abraham to make it 4-2, and then reduced the deficit even further with a fine strike himself to pull it back to 4-3.

Chelsea fans will be thrilled with the potential Pulisic is showing, and Crooks was highly complimentary as he included him in his Premier League team of the week on BBC Sport.

Singing Pulisic’s praises, Crooks said: “Liverpool were 4-1 up and suddenly Christian Pulisic came on with 30 minutes left to play and the American set Anfield alight.

“He set up Tammy Abraham with a glorious cross to score before netting himself with a piece of individual brilliance.

“With better defending from Chelsea they might have got the point they were looking for. Regardless, Pulisic is going to be a star next season.”
