Champions League winner wants West Ham job and is on standby in case David Moyes is sacked

West Ham United could be set to move for Rafael Benitez, with reports stating that the former Liverpool manager is on standby in case David Moyes loses his job at the London Stadium.

The Spanish tactician is currently out of work and would supposedly be interested in replacing Moyes at West Ham as his future looks increasingly uncertain, according to the Daily Mail.

Benitez has had a great career and would bring plenty of experience to this Hammers team as they struggle at the wrong end of the Premier League table.

Having won major trophies like the Champions League and the Europa League in spells with Liverpool and Chelsea, Benitez should have the skills required to steer this under-achieving West Ham side away from trouble.

Rafa Benitez to West Ham?

It would be some statement if the east Londoners could land a big name like Benitez, though it seems they’ve failed in other ambitious moves for the likes of Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino, according to the Mail’s report.

Benitez’s last job in the Premier League was an underwhelming spell at Everton, who sacked him just over a year ago.

  1. Why include pictures of Poch & Tuchel who wouldn’t touch West Ham with someone else’s barge pole?
