Martin O’Neill in disbelief that Konate wasn’t shown red for Liverpool

Speaking on talkSPORT Martin O’Neill was in disbelief that Ibrahima Konate was not shown red.

O’Neill spoke on the Ashley Young sending off for Everton and compared it to the Konate situation who he believes should have been sent off, saying that he himself would be “apoplectic” on the touchline.

He labelled the situation a “momentum mover” for Everton as it would have made the game 10v10, and the game could have changed dramatically.

The game finished 2-0 to Liverpool after Ashley Young was sent off for two yellow cards in the first 37 minutes of the game.

Liverpool then scored two goals in the second half, both coming from Mohamed Salah to beat Everton at Anfield.

This victory moved Liverpool up to third in the Premier League, with 20 points after their opening nine fixtures. This has included six wins, two draws and only the one loss so far this campaign.

Everton however are down in 16th in the Premier League on just seven points in their opening nine games. This includes two wins, one draw and six losses including this loss to Liverpool.

  1. Why is Klopp not shouting and screaming for the Everton match to be replayed because the referee, linesman, VAR and all the supporters in Anfield failed to see the red car.
