Alan Shearer has spoken on the big risk Kieran Trippier took joining Newcastle United last year, as he praised Trippier’s recent performances on Match of the Day 2.
Shearer spoke on the risk Trippier took joining Newcastle when he did, as it was a possibility they could have been relegated that season.
But he has gone on to shine for Newcastle since joining, with Shearer even claiming “I think the football he is playing now for Newcastle is the best he has played in his whole career”.
Trippier got himself an assist in the 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend, as Newcastle moved up to 6th in the Premier League on 16 points.
Trippier has made 11 appearances for Newcastle in all competitions this season, providing seven assists (six of which have come in the Premier League) and totalling 949 minutes of football.
