‘Frustrated’ David Sullivan undecided on major West Ham issue

West Ham owner David Sullivan is reportedly undecided over whether or not to hand David Moyes a new contract.

That’s according to a recent report from HITC, who claims the Hammers’ owner is ‘frustrated’ by things happening both on, and off, the pitch.

There appears to be a divide within the club behind the scenes with Sullivan open to offering Moyes a new deal beyond the end of the season but others feeling differently.

The 60-year-old’s comments on technical director Tim Steidten at the end of the January transfer window did not go down well.

Speaking to the Standard about the club’s lack of late activity, Moyes said: “Tim’s German and they’ve got it all done, tools down early, all the stuff done whereas we’re last minute. He’s probably struggling to get used to our culture.

“The culture here is lots of deals at the end and the supporters hoping for a last-minute deal. Maybe this window there will be but at the moment it’s not as if it’s been a huge window for anybody.”

With the manager and the technical director pulling in different directions, it seems inevitable the pair will not work together for much longer — who Sullivan decides to back beyond this season remains unknown though.

Renewing Moyes’ deal has since been made harder following the team’s 6-0 thrashing at home against Arsenal last weekend. The Hammers didn’t just lose, they looked utterly deflated and like a team who should be fighting relegation, not for a European spot.

  1. Having supported this club for 68 years West Ham always in the past played with passion & pride.
Sadly this has disappeared under Moyes as he continues to play the team players out of position. You only have to look at Pablo who scored yesterday.
I want to see a team playing exciting football.
I afraid Moyes is not the West Ham way as his style of football play is boring & depressing.

  2. Moyes has to go and a new manager and coaching staff bought in to train them properly. The defenders don’t even pick up players in their own penalty area? The fans all voted with their feet yesterday and they want change now! Arne slot of feynoord would be my choice attacking philosophy and has proven ability. We need Sullivan and kretinsky to back the new manager with funds. And we need to pay the money for top players not cheap misfits! West ham need to step up as have Aston Villa, Newcastle and Spurs. COYI.
