Chelsea are interested in signing the AC Milan attacker Rafael Leao at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old Portuguese international has been linked for the move to Paris Saint-Germain as well but a report from Fichajes claims that Chelsea are now prepared to compete with the French outfit for his signature.
Leao has established himself as one of the best attackers in European football and he has been a key player for Milan in recent seasons. He has contributed to seven goals and nine assists across all competitions this season and he could add a new dimension to the Chelsea attack.
Chelsea have been quite mediocre going forward and they could certainly use a goal-scoring winger. The 24-year-old old capable of operating on either flank as well as a centre forward. His versatility will be an added bonus for Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino.
The 24-year-old will look to take the next step in his career and a move to the Premier League could be an exciting opportunity for him. However, Chelsea are unlikely to compete in the UEFA Champions League next season and that could be a major problem for the Blues.
Leao will want to compete at the highest level and he will want to join a club capable of winning league titles and the Champions League trophy. It remains to be seen whether he is prepared to join the Chelsea project at the end of the season.
The report claims that the Portuguese international is valued at £150 million and affording him will not be easy for any club in the world.
