Arsenal convinced about signing £170million Premier League duo

Arsenal are confident that Ivan Toney and Pedro Neto would make the desired impact if they move to North London in the summer transfer window.

Scouts from the Gunners observed both players in action during Wolverhampton Wanderers’ match against Brentford last weekend.

According to transfer source Dean Jones, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has been after Neto and Toney for over a year.

Jones, who spoke with GIVEMESPORT, claimed the Gunners upped their chase after seizing a “perfect” chance.

Jones thinks that as Premier League teams got ready for the end of an exciting season, Arteta was keen to find out how Neto and Toney were doing, so Arsenal sent scouts to observe them.

He responded to a question on whether Arsenal scouted Neto and Toney last weekend by telling GIVEMESPORT:

“It was an ideal fixture for them to take in those two players. Both of them have been on the radar over the past year, and it was an opportunity to check exactly where each player is at this stage of the season.

“To be honest, I think it’s beyond the stage of gauging how good either player is. Arsenal are totally convinced that either of them or both of them could work well at the Emirates. There are not really any doubts around that.”

Brentford value Toney at £100million while Neto could cost in the region on £70million. Both the players are being chased by Arsenal’s Premier League rivals. Chelsea and Manchester United have been paired with Toney in the media while Manchester City, Spurs and Liverpool are eyeing Portuguese winger Neto.

Arsenal have been long term admirers of both the players. The Gunners wanted to sign Toney in January but their Financial Fair Play position stopped them from doing so.

Arteta wants a striker for his team and believes that signing a good attacker can finally make his team topple Manchester City’s dominance in the Premier League.
