For the upcoming season, Liverpool need a new manager of proven caliber to succeed Jurgen Klopp and Roberto De Zerbi is one of the most well-known candidates.

Brighton, led by the Italian manager, qualified for the Europa League last season.

Barcelona are also keeping an eye on De Zerbi as they search for a new head coach to take Xavi Hernandez’s position. The Spaniard has decided to leave the Catalan giants at the end of the season.

Gianluigi Longari, an Italian journalist, has tipped Liverpool to appoint De Zerbi. The transfer expert, as reported by Arena Napoli, stated:

“A closing on De Zerbi, the coach that I personally would choose both if I were at Liverpool and Barça.”

“The Italian would respect the DNA of both clubs with his ideas of play and would have the possibility of exporting his beliefs also in a club that starts with the aim of winning all the events it takes part in.“

The 44-year-old manager’s contract with the Seagulls is set to end in the summer of 2026, and in order to appoint him, it is necessary to fulfill the £8.5 million (10 million euros) release clause in his contract, as reported by Spanish outlet AS.

Liverpool great Xabi Alonso is strongly linked to his former club and is the front-runner to succeed Klopp at Anfield.

Although Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen are leading the Bundesliga, the Italian has more managerial experience overall and has shown his value in England as well.

Both the managers are relatively young and to replace one of the best managers in world football, Klopp, will not be an easy feat.
