Manchester United have reportedly lowered their asking price for Mason Greenwood.
According to a recent report from Fussball News (via Fichajes), the Red Devils are open to letting the striker leave in the summer but are hopeful their financial demands will be met.
Rumoured to be wanted by Atletico Madrid and Barcelona following a decent loan spell with Getafe, Greenwood, 22, is expected to continue his career revival in La Liga.
However, still with 18 months left on his Old Trafford contract, the 22-year-old, despite previous criminal charges, which he was later cleared of, damaging his reputation, remains highly valued.
United may not be able to get as much as they originally wanted for the Bradford-born forward though. Despite being desperate to offload him permanently at the next available opportunity, the Premier League giants have been forced to slash their asking price from £40 million to £34 million.
Failure to find a buyer at the end of the season would see Greenwood return to Manchester — a potentially disastrous scenario for the club’s hierarchy, who are determined to distance themselves from the controversial attacker.
Since joining Getafe on loan last summer, Greenwood, who also has one senior international cap for England to his name, has scored seven goals and registered five assists in 24 games in all competitions.

Strange, the new owner yesterday said that no decision has been made and the principals involved will be considered before making a decision on Mason and his future at Manchester United. He re-iterated that the hype ill not sway their decision making. No talk about selling the player.
