Man United are carrying out various internal evaluations, working in particular on player renewals.

News is expected from the club soon, including that which is related to the future of young Kobbie Mainoo, according to sources close to CaughtOffside.

The teenage talent whose footballing education came at the club’s academy is still discussing his new contract, but there is optimism that the agreement could be reached in the next few weeks.

The Red Devils have intensified contacts with the player’s entourage and obviously the positive conclusion of Mainoo’s renewal will influence the fate of Sofyan Amrabat.

In general, Man United are not inclined to keep the Moroccan midfielder who, therefore, should return to Fiorentina in the summer.

Man United targeting defensive reinforcements

Another target for the club to aim for in the summer is to strengthen their leaky defence.

Jean Clair-Todibo remains at the top of the Red Devils’ list, with the Premier League outfit already having tried to explore his transfer in January.

A communication channel for the French player is always active, but in addition to Todibo, the name of Matthijs de Ligt has come to the fore.

The Dutchman is appreciated a lot by his former Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag, with Antonio Silva and Sinaly Diomande other potential centre-back reinforcements being considered.
