Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United to compete for 21-goal attacker

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all looking to sign Jonathan David in the summer.

According to a report by HITC, all three English giants are keen on having Jonathan David in their ranks ahead of next season.

David came into the limelight thanks to his 26 goals and four assists last season. While there was a lot of interest in him, he ended up staying at LOSC Lille. But, that is unlikely to be the case this summer.

His contract runs out in the summer of 2025, which means if the French club do not manage to extend his stay they will have to sanction the sale of the 24-year-old striker who has 21 goals to his name this term. He has been in fine form since the turn of the calendar, he has 10 goals in his 11 outings in 2024.

His exceptional performances in front of goal have caught the eyes of multiple English clubs who have been monitoring him for a long while.

Jonathan David could transform Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal

Arsenal do have two quality strikers in Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah but they haven’t scored enough goals. As a result, Mikel Arteta is keen on having a new number nine in his ranks, someone who can guarantee goals and David is one of the names on their radar.

Chelsea struggled at the start of the season because of the lack of a proper goal scorer. While they have improved on their attacking struggles, they need a new world-class number nine to compete with the very best and they have the Canadian star on their radar.

Manchester United might be fighting for a place in the top four but they are one of the lowest scorers in the division. Summer signing Rasmus Hojlund has started to click but they are on the lookout for another number nine who can support him and David is someone who can help their cause.

  1. Though I would have preferred Victor Gyokeres but for his hefty price tag, we may not be able to afford him. If we can land zirkzee or Jonathan David, I would be happy as all are young talents with room for improvement
