28-year-old informs representatives he wants to play for Tottenham next season

Tottenham Hotspur signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig during the January transfer window on a loan deal.

The 28-year-old has proven to be a useful option in the attack for the North London club even though he is not a regular starter for them.

Tottenham have an option to sign the German international permanently at the end of the season for a fee of around £15 million. A report from TEAMtalk claims that Werner wants to continue at Tottenham beyond this season and he has already informed his representatives of his transfer desire.

It seems that a return to Germany is not on the cards for the player. He was not a key player for RB Leipzig during the first half of the season, and he wishes to leave them permanently.

Timo Werner would be a useful option for Tottenham

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to trigger the buyout clause in his loan agreement.

The London club could certainly use more quality and depth in the attack and Werner would be a useful option to have. He is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three and he will add pace, flair and goals to the side.

The 28-year-old seems to be enjoying himself under Ange Postecoglou and it remains to be seen whether he can convince the Tottenham hierarchy to sign him permanently in the summer.
