Liverpool may have already strengthened under Arne Slot this summer, but they should not be ruled out of the race to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The Reds are on the lookout for a new striker this summer as they aim to replace Darwin Nunez at the club.
Following a disappointing season from the Uruguayan striker, despite the Merseyside club winning the Premier League title, they are looking to replace the former Benfica striker in order to sign a more reliable finisher up front.
Although the Premier League champions would love to have Newcastle United’s Isak in their team, since the Sweden international attacker may prove to be difficult to sign this summer, they have identified alternatives in the market as well.
Liverpool have identified Victor Osimhen as their target
One of them is Osimhen who is looking to leave the Italian club this summer. After his successful loan spell at Galatasaray last season, in which he scored 37 goals for the Turkish club, he is ready to take on a new challenge in his career and Liverpool have been named as the club who are in the race to sign him.
Journalist Graeme Bailey told TBR Football:
“Don’t rule Liverpool out of the Osimhen situation. Manchester United still like him, you know. Newcastle, if Isak comes to a head, don’t rule them out.
“Osimhen, we’re still we only just got to start July. He’s one I would keep an eye on as well for the Premier League. Push is going to come to shove soon but the Premier League clubs have got the bigger pockets with these European teams”
Osimhen would be a statement signing for the Reds

Osimhen’s performances were instrumental in Napoli’s Serie A title triumph, ending the club’s long wait for the Scudetto while also re-establishing them as a force in Italian football.
His goals have not just been frequent but crucial, with the forward demonstrating an ability to rise to the occasion in big matches.
Liverpool would love to sign Osimhen this summer and his partnership with Mohamed Salah would be a nightmare for defenders in the Premier League.
Nigeria’s Troost‑Ekong believes Osimhen is destined for the Premier League and said:
His qualities are his tenacity, he’s relentless, he’ll chase down every ball. In the air he’s amazing … If he’s one‑on‑one in the box, or you cross it in, he’s going to score.”
Insider reports Liverpool star is ready to leave as concrete move is made to sign him
There’s been a lot of stereotype against this player’s altitude, which I think is harsh. It’s clear to see that Galatasaray as a club and as a fanbase have loved him and he has loved them back. He has treated them well and performed well on the pitch. He is definitely an elite striker arguably one of the best three strikers in the world. He should be playing at the top tier club at a top league. I think he would set the EPL on fire if he becomes the number 9 of Liverpool.
Liverpool are not serious to buy these Striker Osimhen
good
I believe osihmen is a good replacement for nunez if sold because he’s energetic and strong a perfect person that liverpool need as a striker
