Alexander Isak has been heavily linked with a move away from Newcastle United, and the player has been trying to force a move to Liverpool.

Newcastle United owners held talks with the player at his home yesterday, and the player has now reiterated his desire to leave the club and join Liverpool. According to a report from The Telegraph, the player remains adamant that he wants his dream move to the Premier League champions.

Newcastle fail with efforts to convince Alexander Isak

Co-owner Jamie Reuben and a PIF delegation visited the Sweden international’s home on Monday to convince him to rejoin the team and stay at the club.

It will be interesting to see if Newcastle are willing to soften their stance and let him move on. The Premier League side have been unwilling to lose their best player, but Isak has been on strike and he has skipped the entire pre-season with them. He has not been a part of their match-day squad in the first two Premier League games of the season either.

It is evident that he does not want to play for them anymore. The latest update will certainly come as a huge boost for Liverpool, who are still keen on getting the deal done. They are prepared to pay a premium to sign the player. It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few days.

Newcastle cannot force an unhappy player to stay at the club, and it would be ideal for them to sanction his departure and sign quality replacements.

Liverpool have had an offer of £110 million rejected for the striker. They are prepared to come back with an improved offer to get the deal done.

  1. The man’s a disgrace to the profession game and it makes a mockery of the Contract he has signed. Just going on strike to get out of a contract is not what the beautiful game deserves or can put up with.

    1. your boss promises you a raise and instead watches as your peers earn multiples of your salary, do you stay silent or look for work elsewhere?

    2. yet they took can terminate him anytime or choose to sell when he doesn’t want to leave

    3. Bit strong. Must be a toonie. Every contract can be broken, not everyone does. But he ain’t the first and won’t be the last. Getting dramatic without knowing all the facts is foolish. I for one don’t judge just welcome what we need to the team. Both Guehi & Isak are footballers with no distinction between them based on their current transfer statuses

    4. what about does players that don’t leave up to expectations that clubs often offload with their contract still remaining, what will you say about that

  2. They should be let him go to Liverpool and he will never play for Newcastle United again I wish him a good luck

  3. NUFC keep an unhappy player, who will leave January latest , for a reduced fee disregarding the effect this will have on even more strikers turning them down UTTER STUPIDITY 😂😂😂

  4. What the club are doing to him is not good, but as a player he should honour his contract.

  5. send him 2 gateshead on loan he’s screwed the toon with his greedy agent who will make alot of cash . therefore screw him and don’t pay him

  6. so should Brentford do the same with Wissa?

Isak has disrespected the Club, manager who made him a better player and the fans who pay his wages. he has not handed in an official transfer request as he is afraid of the financial cost of doing that. If he really wants to leave as he has indicated he should have handed in a transfer request. Also no one has met our valuation of him either.

In regards to other strikers turning Newcastle down, if they dont want to play for the club then I dont want them signing.

    2. No one made him a better play stop being hurt
Clubs sell players who don’t want to leave all the time

  7. Same situation goes with Ibrahim Konate.Liverpool have to offer him an improved deal to make him focus or allow him to move on, because these whole thing is affecting his performance now.

  8. I totally agree with Isak. If LFC is his dream club, i believe the best time for him to move there is now or never.

  9. what about does players that don’t leave up to expectations that clubs often offload with their contract still remaining, what will you say about that

    1. Players can refuse to leave, Gareth Bale at Real is a good example. If the manager decides not to play them the club still has to honour the contract and pay them. Any player simply refusing to play is a breach of contract and payments should be stopped. Isak, with his agent, agreed an improved contract WITHOUT any release clause, and he signed it. No written other agreement is in place, no transfer request has been submitted, just he said she said nonsense, like children. What do you say about that?

  10. I’m a Liverpool fan and I’m critically against the signing of Isak this summer. I honestly think we should give Ekitike a season’s chance to prove we don’t need him. A bit of a gamble really but I’m willing to bet on it. The odds are in the favor of Ekitike performing because he’s dealt with the pressure better than most expected him to (He has played in the midst of Mbappé, Neymar and Messi so I don’t think pressure is new to him), he’s English speaking so he doesn’t have that communication barrier problem Núñez struggled with and the club, the Kop, Arne and his teammates are more delicate with him (unwilling to let a repeat of what happened to Núñez happen to him). Plus, it’ll be incredibly unfair if we do sign Isak this summer and put an end to the wonderful start he’s had to his Liverpool career because I doubt a player signed at the new British transfer record will warm the bench.
It’s better we forgo Isak this summer and put the money we would’ve used to signing to good use. Completing this Guehi deal is number one. Forget Guehi’s on his last year of his contract, he really is worth that £40-45m price tag on his head. Our attack is pretty good right now so we should solve a glaring issue that has affected us in 3 matches in a row— Our defense. We can’t keep using heart and vibes to win games, that won’t work against Arsenal and if we don’t sign Guehi by Sunday, I wonder how creative they’ll be with our defensive holes.
Secondly, we should test Atleti’s resolve in keeping Julian. He was valued at £100M at the start of the window, something we can easily pay when we’re already ready to smash the British transfer record twice in a single summer. Plus, he’s Prem proven— He’s literally in the books for us. Atleti have started their Laliga campaign so horribly wrong this season, isn’t that enough motivation to test Julian’s resolve to leave and Atleti’s resolve to sell? He’s very versatile too. He can play on the right naturally and we’re gonna need that fire power there when Salah misses at least 6 Prem games due to AFCON in the middle stages of the season. Ekitike won’t be benched as much as he’ll be if Isak arrived— Heck! They might both see similar amount of game times or be seen in the same starting XI more than once this season if he does move.

Point is, Isak’s pretty much sentimental than important at this point and we stand the chance of getting 2 players at his mountainous price tag with a least £10m to spare!

  11. All you Toonies are Goonies, it’s hilarious listening to you crying about Isak! All of you are delusional, he told the club he wanted to leave ages ago because promises were made to him and broken, so why can’t you get tgat into your thick heads!! I’m crying laughing reading all your hideous comments!!!! YNWA🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  12. Now den people boss result in the end for the red men of LFC last night an little rio getting the winner in last min of added time, I’ve been thinking about this Isaac situation and throwing his dummy out the pram coz he’s let the club down and more importantly the fans, so say he did come to anfield say Real Madrid come knocking on the door would he let us down as well

  13. I know that it’s not an ideal situation for both the club and the player but it’s happened to Liverpool on many occasions when players make positive comments about resigning and drag on the negotiations until it’s to late for the club to receive any compensation for their talent and end up losing millions on what would have been useful in replacing the player.Liverpool have taken some huge hits with McManaman ,Owen, and Trent Alexander as a fan I’m gutted that we let them go on a free or next to nothing (in Trent’s case ) but at least Newcastle are getting a massive payment that can assist in rebuilding a great forward line to match an already very good team which the fans can get behind and move forward

  14. Newcastle FC are not looking good in this for potential new players. Isak told Eddie Howe he wanted to leave at the end of last season, which Eddie Howe now admits , surely it’s best for both parties to part ways and get £130M than holding on to Isak and him not playing.

  15. If he is right, then what does the indication of the duration of services in the contract mean for the parties?
