Bayern Munich superstar Mario Gotze has dealt suitors Manchester United and Arsenal a blow by clarifying that he is set to stay with the Bavarian giants.

As reported by the Express, the playmaker has confirmed that he has no intentions of leaving the German champions.

“There is nothing in the rumours,” the player stated, decisively.

The news is set to disappoint Juventus, with ESPN having reported that the Bianconeri were in pole position to secure the 23-year-old. Gotze could be seen as a possible replacement for Arturo Vidal, who has left Turin for Bavaria in a £28 million deal already this summer [Independent].

Similarly, Star Sport report that both Arsenal and Manchester United were keen on the attacker.

For the Red Devils, Gotze could be an ideal replacement for Angel Di Maria, who appears to be on the brink of a move to Paris Saint-Germain [talkSPORT].

However, it is a little harder to see where the former Borussia Dortmund man would fit in at Arsenal, with the Gunners already able to boast the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere, all of whom can operate in the attacking midfield positions.

Gotze demonstrated his class in Bayern’s recent 1-0 friendly victory over Inter Milan during the club’s pre-season preparations.

As he did in the World Cup final, the attacker scored the only goal of the game, here racing on to a delicious ball from Sebastian Rode before firing past Juan Pablo Carrizo.

The effort demonstrates why the Premier League pair and the Serie A heavyweights would be keen to sign the German international over the coming weeks.
