Tottenham Hotspur sold Harry Winks to Leicester City at the start of the season.
The 28-year-old had fallen down the pecking order at the London club and he needed to leave in order to play regularly.
He has been quite impressive for the Foxes this season and the 28-year-old has now revealed that he is enjoying his football once again following the departure from Tottenham.
“Maybe the last two or three years of my time at Spurs was tough, but before that it was amazing and I loved every minute,” Winks said to BBC.
“I probably did lose a little bit of love for it in the last couple of years when I wasn’t playing and left out of squads and things like that. It’s difficult to find that love for it, but once you make the brave decision to leave and go to Italy and try to find it there, which I did, and to come here… now it is probably the most I’ve ever enjoyed football in my career,” he added.
Winks is certainly good enough to play regularly in the Premier League and it is understandable why he was disappointed with the lack of opportunities at Tottenham. He seems to be enjoying his football once again and it remains to be seen whether he can guide Leicester to the Championship title.
The Foxes are well-placed to win the Championship this season and they will be determined to return to the Premier League at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are well-stocked in the midfield department and they would have failed to give Winks the necessary opportunities had he stayed at the club. The move at the start of the season was ideal for all parties.
