Manchester United eased past an in form Wolves side to help Sir Alex’s side bounce back from the weekend’s defeat at home to Aston Villa. It was a young Manchester United side who took on Mick McCarthy’s side with the likes of De Laet, Gibson and Obertan all getting starts/
A Wayne Rooney penalty put Manchester United one up after an ill advised handball from Ronald Zubar and the Old Trafford side continued to pile on the pressure and scored a second just before the break through Nemanja Vidic.
Manchester United winger Luis Antonio Valencia added a third.
The win gives Manchester United a chance to pile on the pressure on league leaders Chelsea prior to their midweek match at home to Portsmouth.
