Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri looks to have been dealt another blow by a poor result for his first-team players against the Blues’ youth team.
While this might not seem like the most important thing in the world after Chelsea’s 6-0 hiding at the hands of Manchester City last weekend, it does seem to add to the feeling of looming disaster within Stamford Bridge.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea’s senior stars could only draw 3-3 with the club’s youngsters, conceding a last-gap equaliser to show their defensive frailties once again in a training match.
The report goes on to explain that Sarri is facing a fight to persuade his employers he’s the right man for the job at Chelsea.
Meanwhile, the Mail also claim there are doubts from the players about the former Napoli manager’s tactics.
Yesterday, CaughtOffside learned about a crisis meeting in which numerous Chelsea players expressed the desire for Sarri to make a couple of changes.
Among those was restoring N’Golo Kante to his natural defensive midfield role, while the other was to hand more playing time to wonderkid Callum Hudson-Odoi.
