Opinion: Five potential transfers Man United should consider as alternatives to Jadon Sancho, including La Liga wonderkid

Ansu Fati

One of the most exciting teenagers in world football right now, Ansu Fati has enjoyed an eye-catching debut season in the Barcelona first-team.

The Catalan giants are well known for bringing through elite talent from their academy, and Fati looks the latest example of that, though the club also tend to favour more big-name signings these days.

With competition from the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele in Barcelona’s attack, United could surely lure Fati to Old Trafford with the promise of more regular first-team football.

The 17-year-old may not be at Sancho’s level just yet, but it surely won’t be long before he’s being talked about in similar terms.

Manchester United would do well to sign Ansu Fati

Ismaila Sarr

An exciting performer for Watford in the season just gone, Ismaila Sarr is surely too good a player to be staying with the club after their relegation to the Championship.

The Senegal international looks a promising talent who could be an ideal fit for United’s direct style of play.

Clearly, Sarr is not yet in the same league as Sancho, but he’s much more likely to be available and could improve quickly in a better team and with the right management.
