“They always collapse” – Pundit makes big prediction in top four battle between Liverpool, Spurs & Newcastle

Former Arsenal star Lauren has made a big prediction about this season’s race to finish in the top four in the Premier League.

The Gunners great, who formed part of that famous Invincibles side, has cheekily suggested that Tottenham will end up collapsing between now and the end of the season, allowing Liverpool back into the Champions League places.

It’s currently looking pretty close up there, with Spurs currently fourth on 45 points, Liverpool fifth on 42 points but with a game in hand, and Newcastle sixth with 41 points but two games in hand.

Lauren has been impressed with Liverpool’s recent improvement, however, and he exclusively told Ladbrokes Fanzone that he felt Tottenham would be the ones to let their current advantage slip, as they have so often in the past.

He said: “I believe Liverpool will finish inside the Top 4. Yesterday they showed an amazing display scoring seven goals against Manchester United. They are very strong; Salah and Firmino scoring goals, they have a very strong squad so I believe they will finish in the Top 4.

“Newcastle United have been growing a lot and they have been brilliant, but this season sometimes you get to the stage that you win, or you get to your goal I think people will lie down a little bit and relax.

Can Liverpool edge Tottenham for fourth place?

“At Newcastle they have almost no expectation this season, they have good players and new coaches all together in this first year so to be in the Champions League position is good, but I expect them to drop a bit.

“Spurs somehow showed a very good game against Man City at home, very aggressive and they played very well and very impressive going forward but they always collapse at some point, and I believe they will collapse between now and the end of the season.”

This perhaps shows a bit of a short memory from Lauren, however, as it was Spurs who took advantage of a major Arsenal slip-up at the end of last season, as they surrendered fourth place from a favourable position.

  1. Arsenal has not been in the top 4 in almost 8 years. It is good to talk from a position on ignorance. I will never root for ManCity, bit Arsenal would be the last team I want to see win the league.
