Klopp gives future verdict on ‘outstanding’ Liverpool star

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has addressed the recent rumours regarding the future of attacker Fabio Carvalho.

Football Insider claimed last week that the Reds would allow the summer signing to leave Anfield in the coming window. They’d prefer a loan move but are open to the idea of selling him to another club on a permanent basis.

The 20-year-old signed a five-year deal with Liverpool to join them at the end of last season after his contract with Fulham ran out in the summer of 2022.

Carvalho has made 12 Premier League appearances so far this season for Klopp’s side, but he’s only played 334 minutes in a Liverpool shirt.

Fabio Carvalho has been linked with a potential summer exit from Liverpool.

Klopp claimed that no decision had been made as of yet when it came to his future (as quoted by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter).

He stated, “I’d like to make all of these decisions with the boys before we talk about it. There is no decision in either direction yet.

“What I can say, is that this week he was exceptional in training. Fabio’s really outstanding”.

In our view, letting go of Carvalho on a permanent basis would be the wrong move from the Reds. He’s only had a year to embed himself into the squad and he’s still so young, the player has plenty of time to improve and work on his overall game.

A loan away next season could be the best option for the Portuguese ace, a season away with another club could give him a consistent run of first-team experience.

If he was able to play in a top division in another country, then we believe that would be the suitable level required to develop his talent and potential.
