Mauricio Pochettino reaches verbal agreement with Chelsea following ‘very positive’ meeting

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to become the new Chelsea manager following very positive talks in Spain.

The Blues met with Pochettino on Monday for a further meeting to discuss the role, and it seems things are now moving quickly, with a verbal agreement in place, according to talkSPORT.

This follows on from CaughtOffside columnist Ben Jacobs explaining that things were at an advanced stage, as well as providing insight into the club’s interest in the Argentine in the past and why it didn’t previously work out.

Still, it now seems only a matter of time before Pochettino’s arrival at Stamford Bridge is officially confirmed, in what looks an exciting move for Chelsea after such a miserable season.

Mauricio Pochettino to Chelsea is nearly done

It looked a risky decision at the time to sack Thomas Tuchel, and it’s fair to say things did not work out at all under Graham Potter, who recently lost his job with the west London giants.

Frank Lampard is in place as interim manager until the end of the season, but things will surely improve for Chelsea under a top, proven coach such as Pochettino.
