Arsenal move ahead of Newcastle in race to sign in demand midfielder

The Gunners have reportedly made significant strides in their pursuit of Fenerbache’s highly-rated midfielder Arda Guler.

That’s according to transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke, who believes the Gunners have now moved ahead of Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in pursuit of the talented 18-year-old.

Known for his exceptional technical skills and versatility on the field, Guler has attracted attention from several top clubs across Europe.

However, it is Arsenal that has emerged as the frontrunner in the chase for his services. The London-based club’s established reputation for nurturing young talents and their commitment to attractive, attacking football has likely played a significant role in attracting Guler’s interest.

“I’m told the Gunners have leapfrogged Newcastle in the race for Fenerbahce sensation Arda Guler,” O’Rourke told Football Insider.

“The Magpies held talks with the 18-year-old’s representatives but Arsenal are now the English club most interested in sealing a deal.”

Newcastle United, on the other hand, while also keen on acquiring the Turkish midfielder, now finds themselves trailing behind Arsenal in the pursuit. This turn of events will undoubtedly disappoint the Magpies’ faithful, who will be hoping to see Guler bolster their squad for the upcoming season.

With Arsenal gaining the upper hand in the race for Fenerbache’s number 10, it remains to be seen whether Newcastle United can mount a late challenge to secure his signature or if the Gunners will ultimately succeed in adding yet another promising talent to their ranks.

  1. Incredible player. Bring him asap. Buy and loan him out so he can have regular playing time to develop well. He’s a huge gamble.
