Another poor Boehly decision; Chelsea already cashing in on £25m ace with multi-year contract

Ever since Todd Boehly took over at Chelsea, transfer windows have been interesting for the West London club to say the least.

The American’s approach to signing and releasing players appears scattergun at best, and it’s a wonder that any manager working under him can get a tune from a group of players that’s routinely being changed at the whim of the owner every six months or so.

Mauricio Pochettino does have the chance this coming weekend to bring the first piece of silverware during the Boehly era back to Stamford Bridge, though the Blues have Jurgen Klopp’s decimated Liverpool side standing in their way in the Carabao Cup final.

Regardless of whether that’s won or lost, or how the rest of the season turns out for Chelsea, it’s a fair bet that there’ll be another transfer merry-go-round at the club come July 1.

One player that’s almost certain to be on his way is goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez.

According to sources speaking to Football Insider, the club are seeking a new No.1 despite the fact they only signed the custodian a year ago on a seven-year deal to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga.

It isn’t clear who is in the frame to replace him at this point, though it does show that the club will stop at nothing to get in players that they want, even if it means that contracts that are handed out like confetti by Boehly aren’t worth the paper they are written on.
