Club president hints at stunning summer move for Man United’s Mason Greenwood

The future of Man United winger, Mason Greenwood, has been a topic of debate for some while now.

At just 22 years of age the player still has the vast majority of his football career ahead of him, and his undoubted skill means that he could become a great of the game if his star continues to rise.

Whether that will be at the Red Devils or elsewhere remains a bone of contention at this stage.

Currently, Greenwood is plying his trade at La Liga outfit Getafe, who lost 4-0 at Barcelona on Saturday.

The player has apparently earned rave reviews for his performances in the Spanish top-flight and to that end, and under normal circumstances, he would return to wearing the red of United next season.

His personal circumstances look as though they’ve put paid to that ever happening again, however, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe expected to make a definitive decision on Greenwood’s future in due course.

Assuming that Greenwood doesn’t return to the Old Trafford outfit, he’ll be sold to any interested parties and Getafe president, Angel Torres, rather than putting forward his own club to sign Greenwood permanently, has suggested the player is just right for Barcelona.

Mason Greenwood would suit Barcelona

“He is very comfortable and crazy about staying another year,” he was quoted as saying by COPE (h/t talkSPORT).

“It’s a matter that they [United] have to decide. There is new ownership. They have to decide.

“In Spain, he has a market. Barca’s way of playing would suit him well but it depends on Manchester United. If it’s true, he’ll tell me.”
